What does authentic communication with your subscribers mean to you? Giving honest feedback in a manner that is understood and easily identifiable by our audience.
Have you ever struggled to stay authentic on a particular topic, or with a particular promotional or vlogging partner? No, we always remain true to ourselves and honest with our audience regardless of a topic, promotional, or vlogging partner.
How and why did you decide to start your channel? We began our channel approximately two years ago. With our passion for beauty, skincare, and lifestyle, we thought it would be a great way to reach a vast audience. We are older and feel we have so much to share, that starting a YouTube channel seemed to be a perfect fit and a more personal way to reach more women around our age.
What is the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as you’ve grown your audience? We want companies to see our value and what we can give which is wonderful content, just as other channels with a larger audience. Since the launch of our channel, we were amongst the few that put out not only beauty, but lifestyle and entertaining videos as well.
What inspires you? The inspiration comes from two fun-loving girlfriends with a whole lot in common sharing what they are passionate about. 2 Orchids blog and YouTube channel focuses on cosmetics, fashion, decor, food, and much more. We love to be on top of the latest trends, as well as timeless classics, that add luxury, elegance and a little adventure to life! Our motto is to “Upgrade Everyday”!
What are your favorite topics to vlog about? Our favorite topics to vlog about are beauty, fashion, decor and food. We’ve often share family recipes and love a good haul!
What causes do you care most about, and how are you involved in them? We each have a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Lauren is most involved in the Scleroderma Foundation because she lost her mother to this disease six years ago. It is a connective tissue disease classified as an autoimmune disease, which often goes mis-diagnosed. Karen’s mother is a breast cancer survivor and she often shares the importance of getting those yearly mammograms.
Do you have any pets? We love pets at MagicLinks! Yes, we both have adorable pets! Lauren has a teacup yorkie named Vito and Karen has a morkie named Archie. Archie often makes a guest appearance, wanted or unwanted, in several of our videos, lol!
What is your favorite MagicLinks feature? Our favorite MagicLinks feature is the Link Wand bookmark. It makes linking so easy, with one click.
What is one of the best comments you’ve ever received on one of your videos? The best comment/s we’ve received is people often tell us that we are honest, relatable, a true inspiration, and that we are lots of fun!
What is your favorite place to shop? Hands down we both love Nordstrom, Sephora, and Ulta!
