What does authentic communication with your subscribers mean to you? Authentic Communication is the foundation of my channel and why I create. It means that I get to share my true self and thoughts with them.
Have you ever struggled to stay authentic on a particular topic, or with a particular promotional or vlogging partner? Not at all. I always evaluate how something is going to make me come across to my viewers before I even agree to participate. If my reaction or feelings are not genuine, then I won’t talk about it or promote it.
How and why did you decide to start your channel? I started my channel over six years ago to help my friends and others who kept asking me about my hair or makeup. I felt like it was better to show them than to tell them.
What is the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as you’ve grown your audience? The most difficult challenge would have to be the negativity and body shaming of those who are insecure with themselves. Just weeding those persons out of my channel so that they don’t poison the others who genuinely want to learn was hard because I wanted to have a space for everyone, yet some took that for granted.
What inspires you? Just to know that there is always something new out there to discover. If I can help anyone in any way make a decision on whether or not to buy a product that will in return enhance their life is what really inspires me and keeps me going.
What are your favorite topics to vlog about? Beauty all the way! Anything hair or makeup related.
What causes do you care most about, and how are you involved in them? I care most about helping young women. I am not involved with any particular organization at the moment, but when I do get a chance to offer donations, a kind word or even a helping hand, I’m there willing and able to do so.
Do you have any pets? We love pets at MagicLinks! I have one cat that actually belongs to my boyfriend. Her name is “Kitty” and funny story, she does not like him and he has never been able to touch her from the day he adopted her. Once I started living with him, I have been the only person she allows to touch her and she loves cuddles. So at 14 years old, she is now my cat.
What is your favorite MagicLinks feature? The ability to find products in the search. I like that I can type in a product and it shows up with links ready to go instead of me having to find the product on another site and come back with the link.
What is one of the best comments you’ve ever received on one of your videos? It would have to be a young lady let me know that I gave her the confidence to rock her “back rolls.” It was the most empowering thing I had heard that week. That something others see as a body image issue, I was able to help her turn that around and not care what anyone though of her.
What is your favorite place to shop? Definitely Fashion Nova
Is there anything you’d like to share with others in the community about your experience with MagicLinks? I would say patience is the key with MagicLinks. You may feel like you’re providing links and no one is really checking them out, but once you keep at it and let them know that the links are there, they will find them which makes it easier for everyone.
