There are so many topics you can cover in a YouTube video, but the most important one is yourself! It might seem a bit self-centered, but it’s actually pretty important to have an intro video on your page.
Intro videos let viewers know what to expect from you and your channel. You’ve got a lot to share, and if you let people know what sort of great videos they can look forward to, you’re likely to gain subscribers.
An intro video doesn’t need to be long, but it should cover a few basic pieces of information:
1. Who You Are
Go into as much or little detail as you like here, but be sure to give people something they can connect with. Maybe you want to share what you do for work, or what you’re studying in school, or what you like to do with your free time – besides make great videos!
2. Why You Vlog
Share with your viewers why you love what you do!
Are you a makeup lover who was constantly asked for tips and tricks?
Have you been experimenting with creating perfect hairdos since you were 4?
Is vlogging something you do to show off your great bargain hunting skills and help others do the same?
3. What You’ll Cover in Your Videos
This is simple, but if people know what sort of videos you’ll be doing, they’ll know if your channel is a right fit for them.
You’re welcome to add anything else you like, but keep your video short, sweet, and clear. Aim for two minutes or less – remember, people are trying to get to know you and whether or not they want to spend time on your channel. A small upfront time commitment could really pay off.
There are lots of great examples of Intro Videos from other MagicLinks users. Here are a few that do a great job.
