How long have you been using MagicLinks? I have been using MagicLinks for the past year and a half!
What does authentic communication with your subscribers mean to you? To me authentic communication with my subscribers means engaging with them regularly and be honest with them. Since starting my channel back in 2013, I have made it a point to respond to almost every single comment I get!
How and why did you decide to start your channel? I was an eighteen year old senior in high school when I started my channel and I am now twenty two and in college. There is no specific reason behind why I started my channel other than I wanted to make tutorials related to a bunch of the different arts and crafts projects I was doing at the time. Everyone I knew in person would always ask how I made certain things and I figured YouTube would be an easy way to show them how to do it rather than me explaining it to them.
What is the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as you’ve grown your audience? One of the most difficult challenges I have faced as my audience has grown is balancing YouTube and school. I am a full time college student studying to become a Respiratory Therapist and I have always said school comes before YouTube, but it is something not all of my audience members understand which can be frustrating.
What are your favorite topics to vlog about? Some of my favorite topics to vlog about are real life topics. I did a mini series called “What It’s Like” where I would sit in front of the camera and talk about what it was like to experience certain things people do not really like to talk about like grief, growing up with ADHD, and anxiety.
What causes do you care most about, and how are you involved in them? One of the causes I am really passionate about is mental health awareness. How I got involved with raising awareness is by not being afraid to talk about mental illness and letting others know that it is okay to ask for help. I feel people are scared to talk about mental health because of how others react, but it should not be that way. No one should ever feel afraid to ask for help!
Do you have any pets? We love pets at MagicLinks! Currently I have four cats and we also have a family dog! Tigger and Baby are both Maine Coons, Hermie is a grey domestic long hair, and Luckie is a black domestic short hair. As for our family dog Abby, she is a Jack Russel Terrier Beagle mix. She is full of energy and thinks she is a lap dog when really she’s not, because she weighs around fifty pounds!
What is your favorite MagicLinks feature? My favorite MagicLinks feature is the link wand! It makes in incredibly easy to link products from their direct websites rather than shuffling around through a bunch of different opened tabs on your computer.
What is one of the best comments you’ve ever received on one of your videos? One of the best comments I have received was from an eleven year old girl who told me when she is older she hopes to have the courage I have to not be ashamed of having ADHD, anxiety, or depression. Knowing I have had this impact on someone is such a good feeling!
What is your favorite place to shop? Marshall’s!
Is there anything you’d like to share with others in the community about your experience with MagicLinks? My favorite part about MagicLinks is that I am able to share product links with my audience which makes it a lot more easy for them to find them rather than having to search the internet for them! The best part is it takes little to no time on my end to find and post the links for them!
