How long have you been vlogging? I started creating beauty-focused videos in April of 2013, so almost 2.5 years!
What inspired you to start your vlog? I felt that there were a ton of amazing ladies that were creating makeup tutorials and sharing reviews of luxury beauty items, but I felt that there weren’t many channels that focused in on drugstore-priced beauty items. I knew that even though I wasn’t a makeup artist, I had enough knowledge and a passion for drugstore makeup that I could try to help those with a budget in mind by reviewing those wonderful, cheaper products!
Any words of wisdom for someone considering starting a vlog? Stay true to YOU. There will always be other people that are more successful than you. With that being said, there will always be people trailing behind you. Focus on what makes your vlog YOU, and stick to it. Nothing great can happen by mimicking or copying another person – then you are being your best version of THEM.
How long have you been using Magic Links? I’ve been using Magic Links for a little less than a year now.
What is your favorite thing about MagicLinks? I like that this site is not only user-friendly, but that you are in charge of whatever you’re doing. A lot of other similar sites are almost too hands-on, and this is a very refreshing change. They are willing to help if you want, but they aren’t pressuring you in any way. It’s the perfect balance!
What feature do you find the most useful in Magic Links? The “Quick Links” tool, where you can paste in a list of product names, and it will MAGICALLY link all of them for you! It has saved me a ton of time when writing my description box for my Youtube videos.
What advice would you give other Magic Links users to get the most out of the program? Even when you don’t think you need to, link products you mention anyway! Sometimes I’ll mention another product in passing and not show it in the video, but I’ll get a lot of people asking about that product. Link it – JUST IN CASE! 🙂
Have any pets? We love pets here at MagicLinks! Yes! I have a puppy beagle named Pinocchio. (I’m a Disney nerd!)
Favorite quote or mantra that you live by? “Have patience and be kind.” – It’s from the newest live-action version of Cinderella, and it has resonated and stuck with me for all year. It’s applicable to our entire lives, and each and every situation I find myself in, I’m able to remember this little quote and adjust my thinking/reactions.
If you could travel anywhere tomorrow where would you go? Australia! I love that there isn’t a language barrier for me, but it is certainly foreign enough for me to learn a ton about a place far, far away from where I live!
Favorite Magic Links Retailer? Ulta – because they have both high end AND drugstore makeup. The options are endless!
What is one of the best comments you have received on one of your videos? It always feels good to hear subscribers thank me for featuring more affordable beauty care items! It reminds me of exactly why I started my channel in the first place.
Where is your favorite place to shop? Vitacost, because it has so many amazing organic, natural, and skin-friendly products – not only makeup, but food, snacks, and cooking spices, as well. My husband and I do a lot of damage on that site each month!
What’s the best deal you’ve scored in the past month? I got a brand new piece of luggage for a London trip I’m taking in December from Nordstrom – originally $400 and I scored it for $50!
