In a word, not yet. At present, Instagram’s in-app shopping feature is available to retailers only, even if an influencer has converted to a business Instagram account.

The news isn’t all bad, though: Instagram is testing influencer shopping with 23 brands and 55 top influencers, including Gigi Hadid, Jaleesa Mosses, and Huda Kattan. More brand partners and public figures will be onboarded over the months, and we’re hopeful it will be opened up to more influencers.

At present, Instagram is taking a cut of all sales made through the in-app shopping program beta, and there is currently no information on how (or even if) that may change if third-party affiliate links (i.e. MagicLinks) are used instead of direct merchant links.

IG Stories is the one place Instagram currently allows shoppable links, other than IGTV video descriptions.

3. Tag brands in posts.

Not only does this help attract the attention of brands, it communicates to fans that you have a relationship with the brand and have an “in” on their coolest items.

4. Encourage fans to check out your Instagram Stories or latest YouTube video in your captions.
