A letter from MagicLinks CEO and Co-Founder, Brian Nickerson

I am excited to share another important step in our journey to Zero Impact and an expansion of our B Corp commitments: Last week MagicLinks formalized our pledge to 1% For The Planet.

1% For The Planet’s mission is:

“to build, support, and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.”

All member organizations contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes.

This commitment means that as we grow MagicLinks, we will not pour every dollar earned solely into our own growth; instead we will commit a portion of our resources, in both dollars and hours, to growing sacred communities and causes in need. It’s this alignment that will empower our collective transformation to a healthier manner of existence.

We have been busy in a short period of time, and we are excited to announce our 1% For the Planet partner organizations for 2021, focused on human-to-wildlife connection, local indigenous youth in Los Angeles, empowerment of Black women, and clean water.

Founder Susan Eirich’s life was transformed as she was invited to help raise seven wolf puppies, and her intimate connection with these beings led her to found Earthfire, whose mission is to reawaken our deep connection to wildlife and nature through reconnection ecology – expanding our sense of community to include all living beings and moving us to protect thriving habitats for all life. UAII’s mission is to promote and support the physical, behavioral and spiritual well-being of American Indian / Alaska Natives in the urban Los Angeles area. MagicLinks will be working closely with Ramon Enriquez, Director of Youth Services, to provide assistance and awareness for communities in the Los Angeles area.

Black Women’s Blueprint envisions a world where women and girls of African descent are fully empowered and where gender, race and other disparities are erased. The organizations’ focus on racial equality and healing, gender equity, and social, environmental, and spiritual healing align with our own deeply held beliefs.

The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people. As MagicLinks is located a few short blocks from the Pacific Ocean and Venice Beach, we’re all in on this organization’s work to help ensure clean water.

In addition, we continue to support Safe Place For Youth and Orphaned Starfish Foundation as part of our MagicLinks for Good initiatives.

We are particularly excited to bring our social media knowledge and influencer storytelling into these important organizations, contribute to 1% For the Planet, and to share our results with our communities throughout 2021 and beyond.
